My Role: UX Researcher. I collaborated throughout the research and design with a UI/UX Designer to iterate on the high-fidelity prototype.

Timeline: 2022-2024

The Problem: The Director of Product Management approached my team to design a screen sharing feature for the diagnostic image viewer, Enterprise Viewer.

Approach: There are established screen sharing platforms that users would be familiar with. My research goal was to find out how other platforms weren’t meeting their needs.

The Methods:

  • Design Research of screen sharing and live annotation software

  • 1:1 user interviews to understand the use scenarios, current workarounds, and future needs

  • Thematic analysis to derive high-level feature requirements and use scenarios

  • Moderated usability testing to understand where the design could be further refined

The Deliverables:

  • User Flows demonstrating the different use scenarios

  • Research findings, including User Needs, presentation to product management leadership

  • Prototype validated with several rounds of usability testing

  • Acceptance Criteria for front-end development of feature implementation

  • Design discussions with product management and developers throughout implementation

The Outcomes:

  • New partnerships with cross-functional teams for future research

  • User-centered marketing strategy for this feature based on user needs

  • Feature was well-received at an international trade show
